Hanford Challenge's free, virtual Nuclear Waste Scholar Series returns on Friday, June 10 at noon PT. Join us to hear from photographer and author Tim Connor.

During a period of profound grief, Tim retreated into the scablands of southeastern Washington to find solace. The book, "Beautiful Wounds: A Search for Solace and Light in Washington's Channeled Scablands", emerged from this time of grief and healing.

Tim uses the landscape as a portal into deep time—showing through photographs and historical narrative how the geography and landscape of the Hanford Site was shaped by cataclysmic flooding over 15,000 years ago. By looking at the past transformation of the land over time, we can begin to visualize a far-away future for Hanford.
